New Calling

About a month ago, Mark and I got called into the bishop's office and I knew it was something serious since they wanted both of us there. I had my fingers crossed that I was to be the girls camp director again but no, it was bigger than that...YW President!! My stomach dropped to my feet, I started feeling sick and dizzy. But of course, I said yes...maybe a little reluctantly but I did say yes. My councilors and I were officially set apart today and five minutes after walking in the door, I got a phone call from the Daughters of Utah Pioneers asking if I had any young women who could help them out on Sat. I couldn't believe it! They don't waste any time at all. I wonder how she got my name and phone number so quickly...probably the outgoing pres. So, the next few years are going to be really busy and really stressful but I hope we are able to have a really good time. We've got a good group of girls and hopefully there won't be much drama. Life as I know it is about to get a lot more complicated. If any of you have any great ideas or advice for me please let me know. I'm open to anything.

Two words for you. Good Luck!! No, I'm just kidding, we can hash over ideas together. Who would have thought we would both be YW presidents back 20 years ago when we were sneaking out with all those boys. Who's laughing now huh???

You will be great. You are so organized. I feel your pain right now! I was just put in as primary president and as you know I am five months pregnant. Learn to delegate! I have found some great primary ideas on www.sugardoodle.net They also have Young Women ideas on their too. If you want to talk to my little sis, let me know, she just got put in as YW president a couple months ago in Texas. You'll be fabulous. How about a Lake Powell activity?

When you first start, it's amazingly intimidating, but it's also amazing how you grow into it. I'm doing things now that I would never have imagined I was capable of a year ago. It's also a wonderful opportunity to make deep new friendships with people that you might never of had a chance to get to know. You'll do awesome. The girls are lucky to have such a good leader.
